Corporate Workshops

Story Studio corporate workshops demystify the storytelling process and provide a forum for employees to become clear, confident, engaging communicators.

During a typical workshop, participants will learn how to strip an idea to its core, and communicate that idea in a way that is concrete and emotionally resonant.

All Story Studio corporate workshop participants will leave with a polished 3-6 minute story they can use in their work. Using techniques adapted from improv, classic storytelling and sketch comedy, participants learn how to craft a story that their audience will remember long after they have gone.

Why corporate workshops?

Our corporate workshops are customized to meet your company’s needs. In the weeks leading up to the event, instructor Kevin Allison will work with you to understand your company’s needs. From there, we’re able to design a custom package with all the details leading up to the event.

How long do the corporate workshops run?

Anywhere from 2-10 hours. It depends on the client. We’ve found that 4 hours (half a day) is the most popular for most companies.

What are some types of workshops you’ve designed in the past?

Topics that we’ve customized in the past include, but are not limited to: classic storytelling, public speaking, improv storytelling, product launch narratives, personal anecdotes for business networking, descriptions of your company’s business model and methods for building rapport with new clients.

Who have you worked with in the past?

Google, CitiBank, Sunglass Hut, Princeton University, New York Cares, Pfizer, USA TODAY, Deloitte, ZenDesk, IBM, The New York Stock Exchange, American Express, General Assembly, South by Southwest (SXSW), Brown University, and many others.

What are people saying?

I just wanted to shoot off a quick email letting you know how the event went. I can honestly say I don’t think I’ve ever been a part of anything more beautiful in my entire life. I got the chance to experience almost 20 classmates tell open, honest stories of depression, suicide, anxiety, addiction, OCD, anorexia, and the like. With their stories they tore down the walls that doctors often build because “we don’t get sick”. It was powerful.

Every person who attended your workshop personally told me that you gave them the tools they needed to find their courage. I’m not sure I could have done it without your help.

    – Shayna M., Medical Student, Alberta, Canada

Thank you so much for such an engaging and, frankly, useful workshop today! You were able to get our team thinking about how to craft our messages more carefully, and you’ve given us a lot to process.

    – Cathy G., The Wiley Agency

Your visit left us feeling, inspired, energized and motivated.

    – Lauren D., Professor, NYU

Thank you so much for presenting at the storytelling workshop on Monday, it was amazing. I learned a great deal about storytelling which I can use in different situations to persuade others.

    – Kenrick F. Coordinator, Corporate Relations and Finance

Kevin’s workshop was a truly enlightening experience. Story-telling is so pervasive in our everyday lives that if we want to be captivating in any context, it’s imperative to know how to tell a great story. I have a much greater sense of awareness and capability for keeping an audience’s attention than I did before.

    – Marc A., Inbound Marketing Consultant, HubSpot

Working with Kevin injected high-definition life into my story, and revealed new stories I didn’t know that I had. Not to mention, it was a total blast!

    – Steve H., Inbound Marketing Consultant, HubSpot

That’s our story. Now, tell us yours!
